Abstract

Electrode electrowinning and electrochemical wet industry (chlor-alkali industry, seawater electrolysis wastewater treatment, electroplating, mechanical and electrical synthesis) equipped devices, the choice of the electrode material directly related to electrolytic and electrochemical stability of the process, the production of the product the rate and quality, operating costs, energy consumption and pollution of the surrounding environment and the like. Therefore, the electrode material has been a research focus in the field of concern. Currently used non-ferrous metal extraction industry insoluble anode lead alloy anode and a coated titanium electrodes (hereinafter referred to as titanium anode). Titanium anode lead-based alloy electrode, dimensional stability, low overpotential of oxygen evolution of chlorine evolution, good corrosion resistance, light weight and high strength, titanium anode rapid success since its inception in 1965, the application and the chlor-alkali industry, hailed as a major technological revolution of the chlor-alkali industry. However, titanium anode is limited to the coating formulation and preparation process of the coating structural design, the coated electrode application, although certain research. However, the titanium anode resistivity base material, resulting in the high electrode potential, the surface potential of the uneven distribution of weakness become a major bottleneck to further improve the comprehensive performance of the titanium anode. Start from the composition of the internal structure of the electrode base material, changing the base material of a conventional electrode structure mode, of aluminum as the inner core, the layered composite structure of the outer layer made of titanium coated substrate material design. The idea is: the electrode inner core effective use of the excellent conductivity of aluminum, will serve to reduce the internal resistance of homogenization of the role of the current distribution, the outer layer of titanium-coated, remains the electrochemical properties of the original. By reading the relevant literature, the Ti-Al composite plating method, vacuum-draw method, pressing the preparation method of diffusion welding, etc., the success of preparing a Ti-Al layered composite electrode material, using a scanning electron microscope, can spectrometer, electrochemical workstation analysis testing methods, to characterize the interface and performance of layered composite electrode materials in Ti-A1. The results showed that the case of the three methods can be prepared in a layered composite material of the Ti-Al, and Ti and Al metallurgical formula binding; while the preparation of a layered composite material of Ti-A1 metallurgical formula binding with pure resistance decreased significantly, a drop of 50% -90%; electrochemical performance has improved significantly in the same electrode potential, the polarization current is greater than the pure Ti-based anode, and the preparation conditions on electrochemical properties of Ti compared resistivity is consistent effect. This also shows that the conductive properties of the metal matrix will directly affect the the electrochemical catalytic performance of the electrode material, and therefore, to change the composition of the material of the electrode substrate structure not only reduces the cost of the resistor, to improve the performance of the electrode, but also achieve the purpose of energy saving.
