Chapter normal auditory cortex fMRI research purposes using the blood oxygen level dependent (blood oxygenation level dependent BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging (functional magnetic resonance imaging, fMRI) (BOLD-fMRI) to observe the pure tone stimulation normal people the two hemispheres of the brain The activation of the auditory cortex, the activation volume, and the signal intensity is analyzed quantitatively compare the differences. Materials and Methods 15 healthy volunteers auditory stimulus BOLD-fMRI examination. BOLD-fMRI study group block (Block) designed to stimulate the sound of sound intensity 90dB, the frequency 1000Hz pure sine wave tone pulses to stimulate the period resting alternately arranged. Gradient echo planar imaging (gradient echo planar imaging, GRE-EPI), the rapid acquisition of whole-brain images. All data were confirmed by statistical parametric mapping (statistical parametric mapping 2 SPM2) software offline post-processing to obtain the functional diagram of the anatomy of auditory function, activation volume and signal strength. The results of the temporal lobe area when the pure tone stimulation in 15 healthy volunteers showed activation of the superior temporal gyrus activation highest rate, followed by the middle temporal gyrus transverse gyrus. Anatomic site of the part of the subjects of the frontal lobe, medial frontal gyrus, occipital lobe, parietal lobe is activated. Stimulation of one ear contralateral auditory cortex activation volume and signal intensity was significantly greater than the ipsilateral (P <0.01). Conclusion 1 SPM2 software accurate quantitative analysis of the auditory stimulus BOLD-fMRI data;, normal pure tone stimulation monaural generally have bilateral auditory cortex activation contralateral auditory cortex activation volume and signal intensity was significantly greater than the same side, the performance of conduction contralateral hemisphere advantage. Using BOLD-fMRI second chapter sensorineural deafness were auditory cortex fMRI research purposes to observe pure tone stimulation sensorineural deafness were cerebral hemisphere auditory cortex activation, the activation volume and signal strength for quantitative analysis, comparing the difference ; TCM Syndrome Types sensorineural deafness were auditory cortex activation volume and signal strength of any obvious differences. Explore the quantitative analysis of BOLD-fMRI to reveal the value of sensorineural deafness auditory cortex in patients with the characteristics of the application, as well as differences in the normal human auditory cortex activation. Materials and methods in 22 cases of unilateral severe sensorineural hearing loss patients, about 12 cases of deafness (5 cases empirical, five cases of deficiency, two cases of excess syndromes obvious), 10 cases of deafness (4 cases right empirical 3 cases of deficiency, excess syndromes obvious). BOLD-fMRI examination underwent auditory stimuli. BOLD-fMRI study using the Block Design, stimulate sound sound intensity 90dB, frequency of 1000Hz pure sine wave tone pulse stimulation of resting alternately arranged. GRE-EPI, the rapid acquisition of whole-brain images. All the data the SPM2 software offline after processing, functional diagram of the anatomy of auditory function, activation volume and signal strength. The results of 22 patients affected ear pure tone stimulation, only 10 cases of temporal lobe activation, 19 patients had temporal lobe activation stimulate healthy ears, the superior temporal gyrus activation highest rate, followed by the middle temporal gyrus, transverse gyrus. Part of the subjects of the frontal lobe, medial frontal gyrus, occipital lobe, parietal lobe and other anatomical sites also activated. Left deaf patients to stimulate the right ear, the left and right auditory cortex activation volume and signal strength was no significant difference (P> 0.05); Right deaf patients to stimulate the left ear, the left and right auditory cortex activation volume and signal strength is no significant difference ( P> 0.05). No significant difference (P> 0.05) in 12 patients with left deaf patients, respectively, to stimulate the the empirical patient and the deficiency in patients with right ear when both left auditory cortex activation volume and signal strength. 10 cases of right-deaf patients are not in accordance with the dialectical type of statistical analysis. Conclusions pure tone sensorineural deafness patients stimulate healthy ears the contralateral auditory hemisphere advantage disappears, the auditory cortex may occur remodeling; 2, due to the different type of Chinese Medicine of the auditory cortex activation volume of patients with sensorineural deafness no significant difference in signal strength. Patients with cerebral hemisphere cortical activation BOLD-fMRI technique to observe pure tone stimulation, the auditory cortex fMRI Chapter tinnitus patients Objective tinnitus, quantitative analysis of the activation volume and signal strength. BOLD-fMRI quantitative analysis to reveal the long-term value of the tinnitus patients cerebral cortex activation features, as well as with normal auditory cortex activation differences. Materials and Methods 7 cases of long-term tinnitus patients with auditory stimulus BOLD-fMRI examination. Results tinnitus patients pure tone stimulation of the cerebral cortex activation anatomic site temporal lobe, prefrontal, medial frontal gyrus, occipital lobe, parietal lobe, similar to the activation anatomical location and normal, but quite different activation between tinnitus patients, no significant law . The conclusions long-term tinnitus may be present in patients with abnormal neural activity in the auditory cortex.
