Abstract


In the diversified pattern of the 1980s and 1990s, there is a particularly notable literary phenomenon in Chinese literary world is that some of the creative writers had strong religious awareness, regarding the spirit of the religious realm as a way out, seeking the reason of human survival, thus saving the spirit which the times had lost. They prefered supreme life and refused to write for the sake of eliminating suffering, opposing to the corruption of literature. They approached to the abyss of tribulation with the existing courage. They established the character of God in the form of mental suffering in contemporary literature. Shi Tiesheng is a religious writer of this type. He extends his pen to the sensitive areas of this mysterious religious spirit realm, forming a special scene in Chinese contemporary literary. In this area the writer persists on thinking about the essence of the life and explores the meaning of the life.Shi Tiesheng explores the relationship between culture and Christianity. The obstacle as foreseen is his religious is unclear. Is it Christianism, Buddhism or any other religion? With no genetic religion of family, no learning experience of religious schools, and lack of contacting with Christianism society, Shi Tiesheng does so just because of the wilder of the life and for seeking the meaning of the life.Shi Tiesheng is not Christian. He is far from a true faithful Christmas. He explores the life style and the meaning of human being with literature. In order to find the answer to the life, he finds out the rich world of literature in the Christianism. The concept and consciousness of Christianism are hidden in his writing. His works reveal the "crime" of the human, agreeing with the repentance and the love of Christ as well as the respected spirit of tolerance and condonable, offering effective reference and supplement for the development of Chinese literature.This article tries to read Shi Tiesheng’s writing from the religious point. It probes into the relationship between Shi Tiesheng’s works and Christian literature on three aspects respectively. 1) Shi’s sincere and simple creative concept, the the plight of survival in the search for writing Significance, and comparation to the creative concept of Zhang Chengzhi, Bei Cun. 2) The relationship between creative theme and the culture of Christianity, probing into his work on original sin and repentance, redemption and suffering, love and other topics. 3)Analysis of his works in the "Bible" language of transplantation and the significance of the transformation and shaping the image of Christians and priests.
