Suppliers in order to increase cash flow , increase market share or avoid product backlog, sometimes provide temporary price discounts to retailers . At this point , retailers increase the temporary price discount if the order amount , would enjoy a lower purchase price and ordering costs, but more order quantity will also increase the retailer's inventory investment and inventory costs . How temporary price discounts for seeking various cost saving is the sum of the biggest problems faced by retailers . Similarly , vendors how to determine a reasonable price range of discounts in order to ensure their own profits against losses also have practical significance. This paper both retailers and suppliers based perspective , research the supply chain issues temporary price discounts . Article first outlines discount pricing issues and temporary price discounts research background, research status ; then describe the supply chain inventory management and temporary price discounts general model of the content ; Then, in two supply chain structure , consider the linear market demand, containing temporary price discounts, allows retailers to generate out of stock assumptions, respectively retailers and suppliers to establish a temporary price discounts supply chain model and analyze the commencement discount retailer inventory is zero and non- zero pricing and inventory strategy ; Finally a few examples of the model to demonstrate explanation . Number of case studies show that the proposed method can determine the different modeling assumptions retailer's optimal operating strategy and to help determine the level of discount range supplier to ensure its profitable and model analysis of this paper can be solved using Excel software approximation , its use in the actual enterprise provides a convenient .
