In the knowledge economy, the importance of patents is gradually emerging. The field of medicine as a special, important technology, patent protection is especially critical. First, the medical invention is large investment, high risk and long cycle, which depended on intellectual patent protection; Second, the drug patent protection will inevitably lead to change some drug prices, and adversely affect on public health. In recent years, both government, business, or academic also pay attention to the research of the patent strategy. Therefore, research on the drug patent strategy of the Zhejiang pharmaceutical company, has practical significance.Firstly, the author researched on the patent strategy by the relevant literature, defined the concept and classification of the drug patent strategy, and build a Performance Evaluation System for drug patent strategy; Secondly, the author used this evaluation system on an empirical analysis of Zhejiang chemical raw materials company, by Factor Analysis, to calculate the scores for each enterprise in the drug patent strategy implementation (which contains four stages such as R&D, application and authorization, management implementation, patent protection), and calculated the scores of comprehensive standard. Then, ranked by these scores and evaluated them. Finally, the author further by Cluster Analysis, classed these chemical raw materials companies of four models (which named“Lead Type”,“Good Type”,“Potential Type”and“Question Type”), analyzed the characteristics of these companies, and discussed what specific strategy model to choice for each models’pharmaceutical company.The significance of this research contained two aspects:①Reference the performance indicators of corporate patent strategy, to build a performance evaluation system for drug patent strategy, is innovation.②Use evaluation model on an empirical analysis of Zhejiang chemical raw materials company, and propose a corresponding model on this basis, is innovation.
