Abstract

Methanol as alternative fuel cars in China has a broad application prospects. Especially diesel / methanol compound combustion approach proposed for the development of a methanol engine new, more effective way. Formaldehyde as methanol fuel engine major pollutants on human health has a great impact. To protect the environment and achieve no or low formaldehyde emissions, the promotion of diesel / methanol compound combustion, must control formaldehyde emissions. And to control the emission of formaldehyde, it is necessary to accurately detect the concentration of formaldehyde in the exhaust gas. Detection of formaldehyde There are many ways, such as spectroscopy, spectrophotometry, electrochemical sensors and chromatography. More comprehensive analysis of various detection methods, and taking into account the complex composition of automobile exhaust, formaldehyde poor stability and other characteristics, under acidic conditions used in this study 2,4 - dinitrophenylhydrazine tail gas absorption of formaldehyde, formaldehyde-hydrazone . And then analyzed by gas chromatography for the content of formaldehyde hydrazone, and ultimately come to the content of formaldehyde emission. According to this test method to design a set of formaldehyde in the exhaust collection sampling device and a set of experimentally determined by repeated sampling system. This method of sampling and detection system with the use of accurate detection of the content of formaldehyde in the exhaust. This set of formaldehyde detection systems for diesel / methanol compound combustion experimental study of formaldehyde emission characteristics. Experimental engine is a modified diesel engine after spraying alcohol, it can achieve a better diesel / methanol compound combustion. During the experiment, in different conditions, differences methanol, diesel blended ratio of cases before and after the catalytic converter, the use of formaldehyde in the exhaust gas sampling system to collect formaldehyde, and were tested using market oil and diesel oil two kinds of experiments. After standing formaldehyde collected, extracted into the gas chromatograph for analysis. The results showed that: low load, high levels of formaldehyde emission, high load than low load low formaldehyde emission, while the high load of formaldehyde emissions essentially flat. So you should try to avoid letting diesel / methanol compound combustion mode at low load condition spray alcohol. Replacement rate is low formaldehyde emissions low, medium, high replacement rate is higher, while the high load, high replacement rate of formaldehyde emission was essentially flat. After the installation of catalytic converters, exhaust emissions of formaldehyde depending on the exhaust gas temperature. Exhaust temperature at 300 ℃ -410 ℃ range, the formaldehyde emissions. Exhaust temperature is too low or too high will reduce emissions of formaldehyde. Due to avoid spraying alcohol at low loads, so in order to effectively reduce formaldehyde emissions, should maximize the exhaust gas temperature.
