Abstract

The system developed in this research is a consumption analyzing system for thermal power plants based on the .NET platform. The power industry is an equipment, technology and capital-intensive and high-energy-consumption industry that converts the primary energy into the secondary energy. There is a significant gap between the average coal consumption rate of Chinese thermal power industry and that of the advanced countries. To optimize the coal consumption in thermal power plants through software analysis is an effective way to reduce consumption and save energy, which is also the major purpose of this research. This thesis firstly introduces the developing process, designing ideas, realization methods of the system and the applied technology involved and their application in this system. Its working mode adopts the B/S structure and graphical interface, supported by the PI real-time database system, SQL Server database management system and Visual Studio development software. It takes advantage of the computer networks, databases and the . NET platform to reproduce the real and complete process of energy production in power plants to achieve distributed, multi-user, multi-process and multi-dimensional computer management on the energy consumption of the generating units. The operators can monitor the current status of the generating units at any time at any workstation to find out which part causes the high energy consumption and corresponding solutions. With the help of other modules, such as the operation assessment, this system can provide a real-time closed-loop management including finding out, analyzing and solving the problems during the whole production process and effectively reduce consumption through software-aided channels.
