Abstract


The current mainstream operating system for smartphones developed Symbian, WinCE, Linux, Palm has a very wide range of applications . However, because these operating systems are non- real - time , responsible for the the telephone domain and data domain business phone baseband chip protocol stack need real-time high , usually requires a dedicated DSP to handle protocol stack functionality , increased mobile phone costs. Vxworks is excellent real-time embedded operating system , in Vxworks establish a comprehensive set of graphics applications and for mobile phone development , it does not require additional DSP , which reduces the cost of handsets , and make it more competitive . It is based on the Vxworks broad prospects for the development of Norwegian Trolltech with Huawei Hisilicon cooperation development Vxworks as the operating system of the new generation of 3G smart phones . Qtopia software is developed by Trolltech's Linux-based mobile graphics application platform in the development process will be fully ported to Vxworks operating system , and improve the corresponding function , thus becoming the first smartphone based on Vxworks . Since there are larger on the Linux system and Vxworks system different transplant work considerable technical difficulty . Authors involved throughout the development process , to solve a series of technical difficulties encountered in the system migration process ; innovative multimedia server control module and virtual driver layer to solve the optimization of multimedia tasks , scheduling and running ; using double buffering the Framebuffer technology solve the problem of video playback with Qtopia upper graphics application combining successfully Qtopia Linux ported to Vxworks operating system . The authors also a series of optimizations on Vxworks Qtopia system , speed up the boot time , improve the function of the phone , and then prepare for the next development .
