Microgrid is an independent and controllable system constituted of a series of distributed resources(DR) and load that can supply electricity and other kind of energy to specific location. Because of its advantages such as flexible operation modes, high reliability and so on, more and more microgrids will exist in power system. IEC 61970 and IEC 61968 standard series drafted by International Electrotechnical Commission(IEC) define common information model(CIM) as semantics of application program interface, data interchange can be accomplished between different EMSs by utilizing Component Interface Specifications(CIS) interface.For seamless integration of microgrid energy management system(MEMS) and other control systems of microgrid or other EMSs, microgrid-CIM is researched in the paper accounting for the demand of“Plug and Play”DR. At first package frame of CIM in IEC 61970 and IEC 61968 standard series is introduced briefly, the division and functionality of each package are explained in the form of main block diagram and script. Besides, the definitions of class and association are presented, the principle and tool of CIM modeling are analyzed and the schematic diagram of CIM modeling principle is given. According to CIM extension guideline and analyzation of microgrid’s characteristic of configuration and operation, class extension of microgrid is fulfilled. The associations between microgird class and other classes in each package are shown in the form of class diagram. The result of class extension is explained by script in detail. Then the openness demand on microgrid-CIM of plug and play DR is analyzed. The change of microgrid-CIM after adding new DR to microgrid with fixed grid structure is pointed out and explained by instance. The method of automatic implementation is proposed to modify microgrid-CIM after adding“plug and play”DR. In the event of microgrid with unfixed grid structure, connection model and topological model of microgrid are analyzed, and the change of microgrid-CIM after changing microgrid’s grid structure is pointed out and explained by instance. The method of automatic implementation is proposed to modify microgrid-CIM in the situation of reclosing feeder line after fault. In the end the summarization of whole paper and the forecast of future works are presented.This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 50837003).
