Abstract


Fiber -based nonlinear effects of slow light technology , not only can be applied to existing communication systems , much more likely to have a number of potential applications , such as optical delay , optical storage , data synchronization and all-optical signal processing , attracted a lot of the attention of scholars . In this thesis, two cases of narrowband pump and broadband pump , how to increase the fiber by stimulated Brillouin scattering slow light bandwidth to optimize the signal pulse distortion allowable under the conditions of its group delay time to the optimal variable optical delay , yielded some results . Allowed based on the practical application of signal distortion by optimizing a range of physical variables , can achieve the optimal management of the signal pulse distortion . Discussed the amplitude distortion , phase distortion and pulse width of the signal group delay . In the case of narrowband pumped comparison double increase in the distortion under the constraint condition of lines and a single gain line pumped pulse group delay optimization results . As an example, under a given amplitude distortion and phase distortion constraint conditions , the dual gain of the group delay is 2 times the single gain case of ; while in a given phase distortion and pulse broadening constraint conditions , dual gain of the group delay is a single gain situations 5.7 times . Broadband pump case , the increase in single-mode fiber by stimulated Brillouin scattering gain bandwidth of a double broadband pump program , Brillouin gain and associated dispersion characteristics are analyzed theoretically . The studies show that the flattened gain spectrum of an environment conducive to reduce the pulse amplitude distortion and pulse broadening can be obtained by optimizing the frequency spacing between the dual broadband pump peak . Same pump power , the gain bandwidth of the program up to 13.8GHz, is 1.7 times that of a single broadband pump case relative group delay is also a single broadband pump 2 times , the method for 10Gbit / s signal pulse controllable optical delay provides theoretical guidance .
