Abstract

Diesel engine is one of the most widely used power machinery of vessels. Its complicated structure causes that the fault diagnosis of diesel engine is relatively difficult. In the working process of diesel engine, thermal power conversion is the most complex and important procedure, which has many affecting factors, such as fuel injection, ventilation, cooling and lubrication etc. Any problems of those factors will cause thermal power conversion disorders and affect power output and economic parameters of the diesel engine. Therefore, conducting research on fault diagnosis technolgy is meaningful and significant to guarantee high reliability and long usage life of diesel engine. In this thesis, in order to solve thermal power conversion fault diagnosis problem, a research strategy combining simulation calculation and experimental analysis has been carried out, which mainly focused on some typical faults, such as air cooler blocking, poor atomization of injector, etc. The main achievements are as follows:(1) Analyzing the fault mechanism of thermal power conversion process of diesel engine theoretically, which provide the basis of fault simulation and experimental simulation.(2) Modeling the working process of diesel engine by using AVL BOOST, simulating and analyzing several typical thermal power conversion faults to confirm the fault rules and sensitivity of the thermal performance parameters to provide the basis of diesel engine fault diagnosis.(3) Studying the testing technology of thermal performance parameters, among which, the key problems are channel effect eliminating and BDC correction in the measuring process.(4) Designing and building "Diesel Engine Fault Diagnosis Experiment Platform" , carrying out fault simulation experiments of thermal power conversion process to verify the fault simulation and detection methods proposed in this thesis.
