Abstract


Zheng&Han old city was one of the famous capitals in the Eastern Zhou period, located in area outside the Xinzheng town gate, which occupied an important position on the city development of Pre-Qin. Though Zheng&Han old city was the capitial of Zheng State and Han State, the development of itself didn’t be suspended, instead of being developed continually and becoming one of important economic capitals in the Eastern Zhou period.Not only the city development of Zheng&Han old city reflected the culture of Zheng and Han, but it was the epitome of Zheng and Han’s rising and declining. It embodied centrally the historic style and features of city development in the Eastern Zhou period.Zheng&Han old city which is called Zheng city simply, is gained the name by archaeologists in the Twentieth Century. "Water is by the note·You water " records its geographical position detailedly. Because of well-off geographical position at Xingzheng,this area is opened up for development at very early time and have plenty of ancient cultural relics,which create powerful conditions for the city’s construction. Zheng wu seigneur seted up Zheng city in this place. Zheng city consists of West city and East Guo. Compared to the Spring and Autumn period , the structure of Zheng city during the Warring States period are both carried on and broken. Population in Zheng city officially hits more then 200,000,who were managed by the system of home town.Cultural life in the city residents shows developed cultural and educational undertakings&rich and varied recreational activity primarily. It are necessary factors that social factors such as population, policy and natural factor such as rich product resources, convenient traffic condition can promote economic development for Zheng city. Economic development situation in the city embodies mainly three aspects: handicraft industry, business and foreign trade. Zheng city,as the capital of Zheng State and Han State,the military affairs are influential,it is quite tight too that the military affairs are protected.But, Zheng city,which is in the position surrounded by four great power, is fed up with martial ravage. The war brought about varying degrees of destroy.This text draws the outline of the development overview of Zheng&Han old city, from the period when it was the capital of Zheng and Han to the period when it was annihilated by Qin during the Period of the Warring States, by combining archaeological materials and the ancient books and records. The author hope take it as reference for minor cities’development nowadays by researching uninterrupted development in the Eastern Zhou Date medium countries.
