Nayun ancient city is existing the most complete historical and cultural ancient city of Dai nationality, Nayun architectural culture categories are integrity, and culture context is clear, especially 1 Xiaocheng Buddhism andscape architectures are unique features, and are an outstanding representative of Dai nationality architectural culture, its unique geography, architectural features show nearly seven hundred years history and culture of Dai nationality in Nayun to the world, at the same time display Nayun’s "memory" having irreplaceable historical value, aesthetic value and economic value. However, with the rise of many modern society buildings, the traditional landscape architecture environment is undermined by the expansion or renovation of its surrounding buildings without exception, Therefore, from point of view on Nayun ancient local culture and landscape architectural heritage, development and protection, the study on landscape architecture and its characteristics is very necessary for Nayun.At present, the research results on Nayun landscape architecture are mostly Nayun ancient city sightseeing and introductory texts written by academics and photography enthusiasts, but Nayun city landscape architectures studied as a system objects are relatively few, and many results are the original state as a style similar to mouth transfer. Especially such as the Nayun landscape architecture constitute pattern, architectural features and decorative arts, the detailed and overall analysis research is close to empty for tracing the source of this region, which makes its art, history, use, economic value not yet completely excavated for landscape architecture of Menglian Nayun ancient city, and goes against heritage, development and protection of Nayun ancient landscape architecture.In this paper landscape architectures of Nayun ancient city are the topic research object in Menglian County Yunnan province, landscape theory, architectural theory qualitative analysis are used; sustainable development theory, theory of living environment, landscape architecture theory are combined, formation and development of Nayun ancient city are discussed and summarized, the spatial patterns of landscape architecture, its composition and decorative arts are studied, and the heritage, protection and development approaches fit for Nayun-city landscape architecture are constructed. Specific researches can be divided into the following six sections:In the first part as exordium, present research situation, related review of theory and practice are introduced; in the second part, Nayun natural conditions, the formation and evolution of the ancient city’s religious beliefs are combined, which demonstrate nearly a century history behavior of Nayun ancient city; in the third part through interpretation of the overall pattern of the ancient city, the natural landscape and cultural landscape features, the ancient city spatial layouts are analyzed from the landscape pattern relationship of the point, line and surface, the ancient city of "Mountain-water-city" landscape patterns are revealed; in the fourth part the composition of Nayun ancient city landscape architecture and its characteristics are researched from following aspects including the official, Theravada Buddhism and primitive religious landscape architecture. The constitution and its characteristics of Menglian XuanFusi Department, the up city Buddhist temples and the middle Buddhist temples’s landscape architecture are analyzed as focus; In the fifth part from point of view on decorative art of Nayun ancient city landscape architecture, the cultural origins of landscape architecture are clarified, the decoration form of temple landscape architecture, decorative patterns, components and furniture features are described, which convey living environment charm of the traditional decorative art for Dai nationality in Menglian; in the sixth part from Nayun city protection and development staring, composition of Nayun styles are analyzes, integrated feature of Nayun city landscape architectures are studied, the landscape architecture building conservation and development problems are discussed, the protection and development conception fit for Nayun ancient city landscape architecture are proposed.
