Abstract


With China’s residential development mode changed, people’s living conditions have taken place great changes in modern society. The villas courtyards, as the high-grade residential form and high-rise resident, have similar characteristics with traditional dwellings courtyard and can present the essence of traditional residences. However, it became the citadel of villa architectural style in domestic dwellings market, for they just simply copy the foreign architectural forms. "Study from the ancient for today is derived from the yesterday" To know the rule and use it to predict the future, we must study the profound history and analyze the causes, combined with its historical conditions, Similarly, to build modern living environment, we need to know the history and culture of traditional residences, and then look for the development of Chinese culture spirit.This article is objected with the traditional residences, and is presented to analyze the origin, background, room feature, and decoration feature of the traditional residence garden cultural, and then to excavate the precious spiritual resources and cultural essence of the traditional dwellings, and finally to analyze the culture background and user group background in the modern villas courtyard, to summarize the characteristics and development of modern villa garden space structure and landscape elements, with a hope that to find the binds between the Chinese traditional dwellings space and the modem garden villa garden space. And this paper puts forwards the inspiration that the traditional dwelling courtyard to the modem ones from the following several aspects:(1) Inherited the cultural of traditional dwelling courtyard, modern villa garden can be the spirit space of users. (2) By transformed style, regrouped the symbol fragments, refined the traditional courtyard landscape elements, the modern villas courtyard is added more contemporary design elements.(3) The ecological ideas of "nature and humanity" in traditional dwellings courtyard appears are still important in modern villas garden and should be presented.(4) The characteristic of variety space in traditional courtyard provides more space construction techniques for modern villa garden. (5) In modern villas courtyard, the courtyard of the environment is incarnated by the unification of garden landscape elements and the unified coordination. (6) The people-oriented spirit in the traditional courtyard can provide guidance for the modern villa garden designing.
