As a kind of the large-scale data for reflecting the national spatial distribution of land resources,Land use database is an important basis for government’s macro decision-making on national sustainable development and an important data platform for realizing the informationization of land management and for roundly managing land resources.Aimed at the structures and characteristics,this thesis researched and designed the land-use database based on the combination of such tools as Geoimager,AutoCAD,Arc / Info,ArcGIS and MAPGIS.The main works of the thesis are as follows:(1) Characteristics and the application needs of the land use database were analyzed and researched in depth,and the data collection,processing of land use database or even the entire construction process of land use database had been expatiated.(2) By the combination of Geoimager,AutoCAD,Arc / Info,ArcGIS and MAPGIS and other technology,the building methods were discussed.IN the method mentioned in this thesis,DMAPS2002 and AutoCAD were used for data collection,the language and tools provided by Arc / Info,ARCGIS were used for the data processing,MAPGIS were used for database construction.(3) Encountered in land use database designing and construction,some core technologies and research issues were analyzed,including the conversion method of GIS platform between different data format;how to eliminate man-made errors; and any other problems such as graphics Edge matching,graphics splicing,area checking,strip map speckle identification.(4) Based on the above-mentioned analysis,the design of land use database was made up on MAPGIS platform.Furthermore the entire process of land use database was described in detail,including data collection,data processing,database construction.At present,the designing and debugging of the land use database has completed, which has been used successfully for 1:1 million land use database building projects on such counties and districts in Anhui Province as:Yongqiao District of Suzhou City,Ma’anshan City,Dangtu County,Wuhu County,LangXi County, Lingbi County,Jieshou City,Xiaoxian County,Taihe County.
