Abstract

As social and economic development since the 1980s, the city conducted a large-scale renovation and updating , this process makes the city the structure and substance morphogenesis changed dramatically , especially in the city's image and character of the loss of convergence , urban is no longer among the living memory that familiar hometown. Therefore, we promote urban development, how to effectively protect the city's historical , continuing urban context , maintaining the public's sense of collective identity , the city has become an urgent task facing . Dissertation corroborated by theoretical studies and examples , discusses the basic theory of memory of the city , focusing on the traditional neighborhoods of memory elements and performance elements of urban design strategies memories , hoping for the city's historical and cultural preservation and urban design work provide valuable reference . The main research content and conclusions are as follows : Article describes memories of the city is a complex system , you should not just stay in the physical level, not only refers to the physical environment and urban form, which involves not only the physical environment and human subjective feelings and consciousness , but also fully embodies the urban social groups and different perceptions of the urban environment and value judgments . Traditional neighborhoods as memories of the city carrier, city memory systems need to be included in the traditional neighborhoods , places and memories have maintained close ties.
