Abstract


Sensor network attracts more and more attentions in the front edge technology which has been providing an unprecedented spatial scope for the humanity to the physical world’s monitoring with the growing popularity. However, the current sensor networks are isolated and closed to each other, the sensing information is monopolized by the manager and other users can’t share and cooperate together to implement intelligent observation tasks. The reason is that there haven’t a uniform and effective data providing format; the tight correlation between application and development makes the sensor networks lack of interoperability; the isolation of the sensor networks make users can’t discover the sensing information.This paper adopts the service oriented concept to design a service-oriented architecture of the sensor network to resolve the above problems. And a deeply research is given to the key technologies. This paper first gives a detail research on sensor networks to give a universal definition of sensor service and abstract a set of basic and business services. After that a set of standard service interfaces are specified to help applications access the sensor networks without knowing how these services realize. In order to help the users discover available sensing information rapidly in the numerous resources, this paper adopts the centralized registry mode to realize the sensor service discovery. To facilitate the service discovery, this article also defines a universal service description model, data format and transport protocol between the service interactive entities. This paper uses the Service Data Object to covert the data format between legacy platform and service, and uses Web Service technology to realize the service and further packing with the Web application procedure. For other networks, the sensor network can not only be data producer, but also can respond to external commands. At the same time, the customers may only use the browser to invoke the service instead of installing client software, which adapting the future thin client trend.Finally, this paper gives the implementation of the key technologies to show the process of service constructing, service registry, service discovery and service invoking, and the experiment results verifies the feasibility of the proposal.
