With a vision and a strategy the 21st century city will be green, a healthy place for all and will generate zero. We constantly eager to and momentarily strive to create a sustainable, healthy, self-affordable planet. By careful researches on relative theories and projects, This lecture aims to explore how we can achieve the goal, what the orientation to our gorgeous envisions is, whether there exist any feasible strategies. Under the context of present energy crisis, enlarged urban problem, fiercely disaster of natural environment and our living spaces, we should put both urban and countryside together at same level, which means the planting activities should be tugged back into human’s daily life. A flourishing landscape with edible plants should not only be feature of romantic idealism belonging to minorities, but extremely urgent future objective. Urban and Agriculture, edible landscape and Urban should be put together in a certain place in the next era of development of the urban area. All advantages of Urban Agriculture like reforming community networks, food mile reduction, productivity regained, solution to many urban problems, have been broadly discussed and worth it. At present time, some large scaled urban agricultural activities generate in most of undeveloped countries to resist starvation and poverty, and few distribute in developed countries. This lecture gives introductions to the concept of Urban Agriculture, Edible City, Productive landscape, elaborates the history and Ideological Origins of each, vistas, and finally points out the potential retards against broadly illegally implemented.
