Abstract

The mechanical researches of the furnace shell have got certain achievements both at domestic and overseas. But there are plenty of holes on the furnace shell, such as the tap hole, tuyere cooling hole and so on, where the quantity of the cooling hole is large and the size is relatively small, and as the limitation of the computer hardware, we have not many achievements on the distribution nearby the cooling hole, as well as the bearing capacity under the different cooling hole ratios. Based on the above reasons, in this paper, the 4800m3 furnace shell model is established by the finite element program named ANSYS. The cooling hole is considered in the model. The stress distribution of the furnace shell is analyzed, and we also considered the bearing capacity as well as the stability bearing capacity under the different shell thickness and the different cooling hole ratios. By the series of the analysis, we got some research results. The researching is mainly classified into several parts below in the paper:Part 1: the classical theory of the plates and shells, and the application of the finite element method are introduced in this paper;Part 2: how to establish the model by ANSYS, how to apply the load, and how to get a proper level of the units division is also introduced in the paper. To guarantee the most accuracy and the minimum time cost, the level of the element division equals to 0.3R (where R is the cooling hole curvature radius).Part 3: through the strength analysis of 4800m3 blast furnace shell, we got the bearing capacity, the distribution of the stress, and the strain variation. And we can find the stress concentrate phenomenon around the cooling hole. Especially in the 9th and 10th row of the cooling holes, the stress and strain reach the maximum;Part 4: under the different thickness of the furnace shell, we compared the changing of the stress and train, and we can find that the distribution of the stress is similar, and we can also find the linear relationship between the greatest bearing capacity and the thickness of the furnace shell. Changing the cooling hole ratio, we can find that the greatest bearing capacity dramatically decreased when the cooling hole ratio is over 30%;Part 5: through the buckling analysis of the furnace shell, at the normal working state, as the favorable effect of the pressure in furnace, only local buckling is happened at the furnace sealed cowling. So, only the changing of the furnace shell thickness has great effects. We can also find the linear relationship between the greatest buckling capacity and the thickness of the furnace shell. While there is barely nothing effect with the cooling hole ratio of the furnace shell. When at the wind off state, the pressure in furnace is 0, and the low buckling mode is overall instability when at the integral analysis. So, there is the linear relationship between the greatest buckling capacity and the thickness of the furnace shell. and buckling capacity has some kind of relationship with the cooling hole ratio. At last, considering the effect of the stiffener, we established the top part of the furnace shell to get a further buckling study.
