Abstract


Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber, composed by Zhang Zhongjing, one eminent medical scientist in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, is a section of Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases, a section focused on dicussing diagnosis of miscellaneous diseases due to internal injury. Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber, as the fisrt clinical medicine classic in China, it attaches much importance to diagnosing miscellaneous diseases due to internal injury, and initiated the TCM theoretical system of differentiating diseases according to pathological changes of Zang and Fu and their interrelation. The content of the train of thought and methods on disease diagnosis is extremely rich in it. Zhang zhongjing use the four diagnostic methods flexibly, including inspection, listening and smelling, asking and palpation and pulse-taking, so as to collect more detailed illness material comprehensivly. In the course of diagnosis, Zhongjing takes the Visceral Meridian Theory as basic argument, focuses on grasping the main symptoms, attention to negative symptoms, compares and identificates the disease and syndrome carefully .Finally, draws the conclusion of differentiation of disease and syndrome.In close connection with the original text, this paper cards and summarizes the train of thought and methods comprehensivly which Zhongjing used, and analyzes the typical case. All these prove that the train of thought and methods on disease diagnosis of Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber have great guiding significance.
