Abstract


As two traditional European powers, Germany and France, due to the special geopolitical factors, both in the past more than two centuries and more attitude to each other competitors in the international political arena. Compete for European leadership in the past history, the scramble for resources in the world in the diplomatic relations between Germany and France is full of struggle. But in World War II, it has undergone great changes, Germany and France to achieve a reconciliation and maintaining a long period of stable cooperation, which is in stark contrast to the previous history of exchanges in Germany and France. How this shift is formed, it is motivated by what? These problems all require more research and analysis on the relationship between Germany and France. The changes in the relationship between the process of post-war Germany and France makes people recognize that, by the international system and the construction of national identity and interests to occupy an increasingly important position in the country's foreign policy options. According to Wendt's constructivist theory, national identity, positioning is the result of the role of external expectations and internal cognitive. In today's international system, between countries, the relationship between the national and the international system has become more closely a country become more sensitive to external expectations and the self-interest of cognitive identity positioning and diplomatic policy choices more difficult. Reconciliation and cooperation between the post-war Germany and France and then adjust for the analysis and how to solve this difficult case. World War II, the international political situation changes, the national identity and interests of Germany and France reconstruct both to make a new choice in foreign policy to promote the German-French relationship changing development. In this process, the international system and state actors mutual construction of new expectations and cognitive special geographical position of Germany and France is located in the center of Europe, both by geopolitical path, cognitive external expectations, as laid the foundation; their own identity in the internal self-perception compared with the German-French identity in the final form and diplomatic policy options to provide a source of power. In this paper, the evolution of diplomatic relations in post-war Germany and France the main line to Wendt constructivist theory to guide the relationship between the evolution of the post-war Germany and France to sort out. According to the characteristics of the evolution of the relationship between Germany and France, the post-war relations between Germany and France is divided into three stages, namely reconciliation and cooperation in the fifties and sixties stage, stable cooperation stage in the late sixties to the eighties, and nineties since the adjustment phase. Through the formation of the reasons for the evolution of their relationship, the analysis of the impact factors as well as the results of the role, the paper argues that reconciliation and cooperation, and adjustment of the relationship between post-war Germany and France from the identity in Germany and France, it is the result of the national and the international system of mutual construction.
