Drive calibration is one of the most important steps in the development of vehicle electronic control system. In this process,it is essential to obtain the data which indicates vehicle’s status in real time and update the control parameters of electronic control unit (ECU) with high reliability. In this paper,communication control strategy is studied in detail which aim to improve the reliability of wireless communication between the wireless remote monitor calibration system(WRMCS) and vehicles.First,the principle of work and system structure of the WRMCS are introduced based on GPS/GPRS network. After that, the paper analyzes the hardware structure and software design of the intelligent information unit (IIU) and the characteristics of the software installed at the monitor center PC.Study each way which the factors influence the wireless network communication quality and the network communication quality characteristics under all factors based on lots of experiments. The experimental results show that in certain range, data sending period and the quality are in linear relation; the more bytes sended each time,the worse quality; the load of the GPRS network changes with time,so the communication quality has a strong nonlinear characteristic with time.Two effective communication control strategies are realized on the characteristics of the communication quality: Model-based control and Elman dynamic recurrent neural network control. The experiments prove that both strategies can control the communication process greatly and the communication quality is improved 30% at least. The paper finds a way with little calculation which single chip system can realize to solve wirless network congestion problem. It will reduce the load automatically in order to make the communication be normal as soon as possible when the network is under congestion.
