The 21st century is the information age as the core of a network . In people's daily life , e-mail, online chat , file transfer , Web browsing, e-commerce , video-on-demand (VOD) , the full enjoyment of the Internet technology brings fast and convenient . Along with the development of the communication network , network performance measurement and analysis has been an important research topic . It is of great significance for the people to understand the network behavior , improve network performance , and improve the quality of service , it is very meaningful to understand the end-to-end network path performance parameters at the same time on a variety of underlying protocols and high - level applications . The paper presents a new analysis of IP network development status and its demand for measuring IP network metrics , measurement methods and key technologies based on bottleneck bandwidth measurement method . The method by changing the transmission packet pair of spaced , analyzes the packet transceiver interval the regularity of the change amount , the influence of the background traffic can be effectively and in different measurements , and use of the slash and the X, Y axes of the two intersections of the consistency , again determines the value of the bottleneck bandwidth measurement . The conventional measuring method, each measurement is possible to obtain several different groups of the bottleneck bandwidth value . This method, we can by a single measurement , they quickly obtain a very similar to the measured value and the true value , and thus a highly efficient , real-time characteristics . Secondly, the use of the available bandwidth measured data to establish the dynamics model based on functional networks , now and in the past time , a set of available bandwidth value sequence , the estimated value of the available bandwidth for the next time . Due to the real-time nature of the available bandwidth , nonlinear , self-similarity , it is particularly important for the next time numerical estimates . The preparation process of the network , according to the estimate of this article , a reasonable allocation of network resources , optimize network bandwidth allocation , the use of existing network resources more fully .
