Numerical ocean forecasting technology development is closely related with the high-performance computing . The development of high-performance computing technology innovation and promote marine forecast forecast resolution and forecast accuracy gradually increase . OVALS developed by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics , Chinese Academy of Sciences ocean data assimilation system , three-dimensional variational assimilation of various thermohaline observations provide initial field ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) forecast system . In order to take full advantage of the computing performance of the high-performance parallel computer forecast timeliness improve OVALS system from the serial program performance optimization and parallelization of the two aspects of the research work . In this paper, the performance analysis tools on the basis of in-depth study of the various optimization of technology and OVALS system principle , TAU of OVALS system computing performance analysis , found that the program computing hot spots and performance bottlenecks , and the use of loop optimization , efficient math library optimization technology has been optimized for them ; insufficient for OVALS system I / O , this article through the elimination of redundant I / O operations to create a buffer conversion observational data file storage format to improve I / O performance ; experimental results show that the optimization program performance increased 2 -fold . In on the basis of in-depth analysis OVALS program flow and data dependencies , this paper realized system parallelization OVALS . Thermohaline data assimilation module parallel process , the paper proposes a the priority processor partitioning algorithm based on the layer , and the method based on the algorithm of global communication , parallel I / O ; altimeter data assimilation module parallelism designed and implemented a two - dimensional irregular domain decomposition algorithm to achieve OVALS parallel computing load balancing ; reached 17 times in 36 parallel scale parallel speedup achieved good parallel efficiency .
