Infrared target detection is one of the key technologies of modern weapons systems . However , far infrared target viewing distance , showing faint small bright or bright spots in the image on the imaging area of ??only a few dozen pixels in size , and the weak target imaging , target brightness even below some high brightness of the clouds in the background interference . The technical challenge is facing : low signal-to-noise ratio , the texture , the target size , shape information less . This thesis is divided into two parts : the first part is the realization of image processing algorithms , and the second part is about the development of high-speed real-time signal processor . Image processing algorithm software part : the infrared image , the image background is complex, infrared target is easy to be overwhelmed , but the target compared to its surrounding background image geometry differences . For this feature , using morphological filtering infrared target image processing , for morphological filtering single structural element can not meet the complex environment , the use of multi- structure element combinations and genetic algorithm global optimization by the characteristics of the optimized structure element is proposed based on genetic algorithms and morphological filtering , adaptive filtering method . The experiment proved that this method can better adapt to environmental changes , to a greater extent to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the image of the target , and can effectively detect infrared target complex background . Infrared target detection processing hardware part : for the large amount of computation characteristics of the algorithm , successfully developed a set of practical high - resolution real-time image processor , the processor 's storage capacity , high precision image acquisition with parallel and pipeline processing capacity , operation speed up to 1600MIPS, and hardware platforms used in the processing of the image of the simulated images and field test , the results show that the system has reached the indicator .
