The popularization of information system and the development of e-business have taken great convenience for human society. However, there are enormous potential safety problems hidden in the convenience. Disaster tolerance becomes a primary issue which enterprises should resolve for the importance and frangibility of information resource, but most of the enterprises ignore disaster tolerance after weighing the devotion and return in fact, especially small medium enterprises. It is meaningful for the continuable development of enterprises that researching a general, cost-effective disaster tolerance framework.With analyzing the puzzle Dom which enterprises are facing in disaster tolerance and the development of disaster tolerance technology, the paper presents a disaster tolerance framework which can meet the disaster tolerance requirement of most of the enterprises. The enterprises can deploy the local backup system and the remote backup system for protecting the key business data under the disaster tolerance framework. Our main work and acquired production include:Firstly, we design and implement a stackable snapshot file system. Enterprises can backup the key business data flexibly using file level snapshot, and the framework of the stackable file system provides good application interface and has the characteristic of general-utility. The stackable snapshot file system is the basis of the disaster tolerance framework due to its general-utility, flexibility and high performance.Secondly, we design and implement a disaster tolerance framework based the stackable snapshot file system. We introduce how enterprises can deploy the local backup system and the remote backup system under the framework, and then we optimize the file level snapshot and implement file level increment snapshot technology.Thirdly, we expand the framework to a given distributed application environment. Furthermore, we present the sufficient condition that the distributed application environment which the framework can expand to must meet.At last, the primary work is summarized, and some future works are stated.
