With the improvement of enterprise information construction, E-business, E-goverment and portal site are widely used, which results in the fast increase of enterprise inner information. People need an efficient tool to gain the exact information from the huge enterprise inner information. And then the Enterprise Search Engine occurs.Because of the heteromerous distribution of enterprise inner information, the efficency and precision of retrieval is poor. This paper analyses and points out the problems existing in the current retrieval technology, and this paper do some research on the theory and methodology of ontology. Moreover, with the utilization of HowNet, and we propose a new architecture of enterprise search engine based on semantics.In order to prove the effect of ontology for retrieval, based on our work above, we design and implement a prototype system of enterprise search engine. This prototype is based on the open source project Lucene, and it provides concept indexing and semantic query expansion for the users. In essence, we utilize the concept relation in the ontology for precise retrieval. In the same time, we combine Ajax with query expansion. Our experiments show that this system can improve the retrieval performance. In addition, this system provides some functions such as intelligence retrieval, which is lack for traditional Web search engine. Actually our system can provide some help for application of ontology in information retrieval.
