Fingerprint identification technology is systematically introduced in this paper the development and research application status at home and abroad, this paper expounds the necessity of establishing fingerprint identification system and the significance, proposed Matlab tools to solve the fingerprint identification technology processing method, namely through the Matalb on CASIA database fingerprint image extraction, segmentation, preprocessing and feature extraction, make full use of the advantages of Matlab tool: syntax tube sheet, easy and convenient; Has a powerful computing and drawing ability; Have a strong and diverse variety of toolbox database available, are closely related to this image toolkit; To image to take a series of processing, Matlab tool was used to extract fingerprint details from refined after get details in fingerprint image feature points (that is, the breakpoint and bifurcation), contains a lot of false features, this feature points using the edge to false, pseudo distance and reduce the false feature points by nearly a third, then extract the reliable characteristic points information, experiments show that the Matlab implementation of this method, simple quickly, but also has higher accuracy.
