Abstract


Printer RIP (Raster Image Processor) software is a vital part of the wide format inkjet printers . Digital halftone technology is one of the key technologies in the RIP software , and a direct impact on the print output , occupies an important position in the printing system . The main content of this article is divided into two parts: the gray-scale image digital halftone digital halftone and color images . Grayscale image digital halftone technology summary and evaluation of various classic digital halftone technology , such as template method , dithering and error diffusion method , their flaws and digital halftone in the causes of deformation . These defects and deformation , several improved halftoning algorithm , such as the point spread algorithm , blue noise , error diffusion method , edge enhancement, the error diffusion method and the error dispersion method , etc. Based on the model of the printer , the parallelism of the error diffusion method , for the classic specific gray level appears obvious artificial texture , edge blur and printout shades darker overall solutions and optimized . Finally, a comprehensive evaluation of these types of algorithms , provide the basis for the printer RIP software design . Color Image Digital Halftone technology , focusing on the vector error diffusion law . Compared with the conventional color digital halftoning technology , vector error diffusion method taking into account the interrelationship between each of the color planes , able to produce better half - tone image . Minimum brightness distribution standard vector error diffusion method , a distribution based on minimum brightness standard vector error diffusion method . The algorithm first minimum brightness distribution standard introduced into the quantization process , the four -tuple determines the minimum brightness distribution according to the input color RGB triplet ; Then , traverse a decision tree to obtain an output color corresponding to the four tuple ; Finally , by solving optimal filter , the quantization error is propagated to the human visual system is most sensitive frequency and color . Restricted to the number of experiments show , the algorithm performance for any one input color halftone color from eight brightness difference to a minimum of four , so that after processing the half - tone image having a better visual effect .
