Today, the rapid development of embedded systems, embedded systems are widely used in various fields of production and life. In this paper, our group the independent development MediaSoC media processor and RISC32E processor IP core hardware prototype operating system software needs of embedded systems in the design and application of the process as a starting point, the design of embedded operating system software Expand the research work. In the MediaSoC system RISC32E processor IP core verification platform to build embedded Linux operating system, faster processor IP core design verification process to ensure the correctness of the embedded hardware design, hardware and software co. And through the the Linux various systems function implementation process the RISC32E processor, the processor hardware and embedded software task and memory management mechanism of collaboration. In this paper, the demand of embedded systems in real-time applications, on in RISC32E processors, built a small real-time operating system Iota, including task management, inter-task synchronization, memory management, clock management functions. Characteristics of the RISC32E processor Iota functionality perfect use of RISC32E the hardware MMU modules to achieve the Iota virtual memory management. According MediaSoC media processor chip demand in software development, media processor for MediaSoC to heterogeneous multicore structural features, the design of the system software platform research. Mainly through a combination of distributed and centralized control and management of the tasks in the system. By the Iota module running in the master RISC32E processor core, the control system application software layer between the hardware layer and interact with the interface to ensure the system's real-time and reliability. Object management modules by constructing Obiect-Schedule for multi-core on the task, the characteristics of embedded media tasks, data flow model and its management. Objects are statically assigned to each processor core, and initialization functions and data stream connections between the system registration behavior in the scheduling of the system work together.
