Abstract


Biometric technology has been widely used in the world today . Iris identification is an emerging bio - identification technology . The iris uniqueness , stability , non- invasive , etc. In recent years, the research and application of iris recognition technology has been developed by leaps and bounds , and demonstrate the potential applications and market demand . Therefore , the identification system based on iris recognition technology is the current domestic and international developments soon a research hotspot . This paper presents a DSP core embedded iris identification system design , the design and development of a DSP, CPLD, network interface and CMOS image sensor consisting of embedded real - time image processing hardware platform . Firstly, according to the requirements of the system to use a dedicated video DSP chip TMS320DM642 as image processing main chip CMOS image sensor OV7120 as the image of the iris image capture sensor chip . Video Port iris image acquisition system is built on the the TMS320DM642 core board based on the expansion backplane interface designed an adapter plate to complete the the TMS320DM642 core board with OV7120 communication , and take full advantage of the DM642 internal integration and EDMA device characteristics , to complete the seamless connection of DM642 image acquisition devices , automatic image acquisition without CPU involvement . The hardware for the system , this article also TMS320DM642 DSP integrated development environment CCS iris image acquisition software design and system platform . The modular design of the system software , including the driver module, image acquisition , processing , and network transmission module , so that subsequent video processing to facilitate the replacement of different image processing algorithms module , other parts of the software remain unchanged . On this basis , there is designed for iris image capture near-infrared LED ring light source , and analyzed the influence of interference caused by the two aspects of an iris image capture from the uniformity of the illumination light source and the circuit , create a lighting model using optical software LightTools The simulation experiment, the inspection illumination uniformity . Finally , visible from the sharpness of the image and iris preliminary evaluation of the degree of both the iris image acquisition .
