The device driver is a bridge connection between the operating system and hardware devices , the program is the core of the operating system , not only directly involved in the internal operations of the operating system , and is closely related to , directly affect the efficiency of the equipment and hardware devices . Device drivers suitability of the application and promotion of whether a device can be crucial . The printer is commonly used in external output devices of the computer system . With the deepening of the office automation , the printer has a wide range of development and application . The Windows operating system has become the mainstream of the personal computer operating system , and thus most printing requirements are based on the Windows platform . Printer driver as a link to connect the operating system and printer device , it is also constantly with the development of the operating system and printer device , the user needs to change and many new requirements and changes . Research under the Windows platform printer driver design method has important practical significance . This paper focuses on the design of the printer device driver under Windows XP platform . Thesis completed under the Windows XP environment a complete workflow printing tasks for clues , analysis of the composition of the various functional modules in the Windows XP printing system and Windows XP printer driver system system structure and working principle , and analyzed Print Interface dynamic link library , print graphics dynamic link library and print port monitor design method . The paper analyzes the printer driver development environment , development methodologies , as well as printer driver installation . Finally, combined with the application of the asphalt mixing plant to the actual analysis of the character handling in the printer driver and design a printer driver . The driver has been successfully applied in multiple asphalt mixing plant .
