A variety of standard long-term coexistence is unavoidable reality in VoIP technology, current VoIP technology involved in the main agreement: IAX, XMPP, SIP, etc. VoIP systems, has become a focus problem in the trade. Paper first discusses the basic principle of VoIP, analyze and compare the FreePP system USES IAX protocol and InstLink system USES XMPP. Research is mainly focused on the heterogeneous network environment more VoIP gateway model, FreePP server in system analysis, on the basis of system structure and open source software, FreePP/InstLink gateway design scheme is proposed, and from the demand analysis, the user address/number mapping scheme, logic design, interaction, etc are discussed in detail. Thesis research work include prototyping experiment environment, set up by InstLink server and user base, FreePP server and user group of network equipment constitute of the experiment, the function of the gateway for the series of tests, the experimental results show that the gateway communication problem is solved well.
