Abstract

Ecological forest is an ecosystem which can improve the ecological environment, maintain the ecological balance and protect the biodiversity. Its main function is to meet the ecological, social and sustainable development needs. It has the vital significance in water conservation, climate regulation, air clean, water quality, environment beautification, biodiversity conservation and other areas. With the improvement of people’s living standards, the quality of ecological forest gradually attracted people’s attention and became the important subject of forest management in recent years. After the division of Ecological forest was defined, a scientific, comprehensive and correct evaluation on ecological forests’quality is imperative.This paper summarized the researching progress of the quality evaluation of ecological forest at home and abroad, Studied on ecological forests’quality by forest management, and attempted to guide the management of forest resources, protection and rational use, achieved sustainable forest management and provided a theoretical basis and scientific way. Its main contents are, as follows:(1) Basing on forest management category, sustainable management of forest and eco-economic theory as a guide, the paper set up two of the three types of ecological forest quality evaluation index system, which includes three categories (conditions, status and effectiveness) and a total of 19 evaluation indicators.(2) Using the methods of PCA, AHP and forest environmental evaluation, constructing the Guangzhou ecological forest quality evaluation model. Which individual evaluation model including the conditions of Guangzhou ecological forest quality evaluation model, the quality states of the Guangzhou ecological forest evaluation model and the efficiency of Guangzhou ecological forest quality evaluation model.(3) The innovation is the use of ecological forest quality comprehensive index to evaluate the ecological forest quality in this paper. According to the new concept on ecological forest quality comprehensive index, explained the feasibility on the Guangzhou ecological forest quality evaluation model in theory and methods further. Beside the 300 representative ecological forest sub-compartments, selected another 40 ecological forest sub-compartments in Guangzhou to verify the Guangzhou ecological forest quality evaluation model. And got 40 sub-compartments’ecological forest quality comprehensive index and ecological forest quality’s grade, with qualitative analysis, the results are consistent with the actual situation of the 40 ecological forest sub-compartments quality nearly and analyzed the reasons for the sub-compartments’ comprehensive index is not high quality which ecological forest quality grade is IV in the 40 sub-compartments, gave the corresponding recommendations. It shows that: the Guangzhou ecological forest quality evaluation model in theory and methodology is feasible.Ecological Forest quality evaluation study related to natural, economic and social impact of various factors, is a complicated systematic project and a long-term, hard research. With the progress of society, people’s requirements on the ecological forest quality will become more and more, how to evaluate the quality of ecological forest is a long way to go.
