Abstract

Ornamental Bamboo was popular with people since ancient times for it’s special feature, the temperament and significance in it. Ornamental Bamboo which are used in the experiment is special in stalk-shape and beautiful in plant type, reproduced by the way of shooting and whipping of the underground stem of the lateral bud. It reproduce fast and effective to form a good landscape. So it will be used widely in landscaping. The growth pattern, mother bamboo which are relative to the growth of new drum, time, light response character, content of plant hormone, plant structure of bamboo, fertilization time and quantity of Bambusa ventricosa cv. Mascot was studied in this experiment in Guangzhou province. Trying to know the growth characteristic, photosynthetic characteristic, facter that effect drum straw growth, proper cultivation measures for Bambusa ventricosa cv. Mascot, finally settle Bamboo’s quality. The results are as follows:(1) Bambusa ventricosa cv. Mascot shoot start form early March to November, continue 8 months. Has 2 peak shoot during the whole shoot time, small peak shoot appear in mid-April, 60 clusters shoot 28 plant during April 10 to 14, another peak shoot appear in September, 60 clusters shoot 73 plants in 5 days. Bambusa ventricosa’s shoot back and shoot was significantly correlated, more shoot more shoot back. Shoot back during the height between 10-20cm, shoot height and diameter growth follow to slow-fast-slow rhythm. Growth curve“S”type. Logistic equation is Y=163.551/ [1+e(3.368-0.192t)] R=0.9982。In the end of high growth stage, bamboo start branching leaves, then start up and down from the upper branches of the elongation in turn.(2) Shoot goal location, shoot time and plant time can affect bamboo’s stalk-shaped. Down from the ground, the lower part of the bud bit has higher drum stalk rate. Study found that the forth shoot purpose new culm drum stalk rate up to 90%. The first one bud bit new culm drum only 25%. New culm drum stalk of bamboo shoots in spring rate is o, by the end of May early June began shoot drum stalk bamboo, by mid-August shoot new culm are nearly drum stalk one. To get more drum stalk, high value bamboo, need to plant after June before September.(3) Bambusa ventricosa cv.Mascot belongs to light plant. Have highest Photosynthetic in October, the LCP of October is lower than April and July, but the LSP is higher than other’s, beneficial organic accumulate in October. Pn increased with light intensity at first and then the trend is flat. Gs response to light intensity at first increased and then decreased slightly. Ci response to light intensity at first increased and then stable. WUE and Tr response to light intensity are first increased then drop slowly.(4) The content of IAA, GA3, ZR is more than ABA, Bambusa ventricosa’s cv. Mascot leaves have more hormones than other position. Various hormones contented in leaves are not significantly. Other parts show: the content of hormones which promote growth are more than Cytokinin.(5) Bamboo structure、fertilize time and volume are affect shoot, drum stalk rate, drum stalk height and diameter. 6 plants per one cluster, fertilize on the end of April、June and August, fertilization is 200g/cluster, be good for shoot and drum stalk bamboo’s height. 4 plants per cluster, fertilize on the end of April and August, fertilize 150g per cluster , this combination can most conductive to promote drum stalk rate.
