Abstract

Social development is all-round one based on taking people as the base. On one hand, the development of people itself as social main body is the premise and base of social development . On the other hand, people’ s all-round development, is one of the main goal of social development. "The big country of agriculture, Countrysides and peasants* is one of the most basic national conditions. As a large social group who counts for half of the peasant’ s population, not only does carry on the big take of production and re-production, but also is the main body of rural women’ s quality directly infects the general condition of countryside population quality. At the same time, the improvement of rural population quality ( that is the improvement of peasant, overall quality),not only the essential premise and base to quicken the realization of china’ s agricultural modernization and all-round modernization, but also one of the basic aims. The study of the relations between the improvement of rural women and social development, for this reason, is an important meaningful question for study on theory and reality.For a long time, China’ s social development is often regarded as the increase of GNP or GDP, and people development hardly considered. So, the study between improvement of population quality and social development is weak. Present study achievment focuses on the general study of urban population and hardly concerns the countryside, esp the rural women. The case study and authentic study is rarer. In view of this, I venture to choose my hometown-Xinyang county in Henan province as the study question. Located in the middle of China, Xinyang is a big county of agriculture, countrysides and peasants, and its development level is in the state of being middle. Because of all this, the relations between its rural women and social development level have typical meaning. So .trying to make such a solid and piercing case study, in a sense, is creative.On the whole, overall quality and their own self of present women of Xinyang county improve a lot. However, China is in and will be in the primary stage of socialism, and restrained by economy and social development level, the condition of existence and development for numerous rural women is poorer than rural women. Deep influence by the old thought "attatching importance to not women but men" in the countryside from thousands of years of feudal society, policy of birth control with inclination and relatively sluggish education concept make rural women’ s quality and social development of Xingyang county appear certainly unharmonized. They mainly conclude: scientific agricultural quality is unable to meet the process of non-agriculturalization; Predominant illiterate and half-illiterate; Ability to absorb and use scientific technowledge and dependence becomes strong. Approvement for rights3and interests entrusted by law is low and the idea of self-defence is poor; Heavy field labor and household work is unable to bear for them; women’ s disease puzzles many of them; Closed and backward living style weakens their collective and country idea. The uncoordinated facts have become the protrubing difficult point of rural social development.So, in order to improve the quality of rural women and promote the bright wishes to turn into the operatable plan , a few of main work should be done at present : First , rural women themselves should change their thinking mode entirely and transform value measure, alter action and perfect emotion style. Second, strengthen education of girl children and rural women . For this reason, to strengthen school education, promote the schooling proportion of girl children of the right age, aimed at the character of rural women’ s quality themselves, all-round education should be carried out, esp great efforts should be done to literate and technowledge improvement of rural women with perseverence. Third, flourish rural economy, esp develop household economy, mainly guide them to enhance the idea of competetion. Forth , regard the policy
