Abstract


Computer Assisted Instruction, CAI appeared in 1958. With the Development of computer technology, educational theory and educational system, CAI has been applied to every science, from either inside or outside schools, covering all fields and nations. It improves greatly the educational development and the reform of the educational concept and theory as well. The advanced education and fast development of the modern computer technology in the past several years require us to teach and learn by making use of modern computer technology. The Multimedia Courseware and Test-library System For Mineralogy aims to improve the teachers’ teaching effect and the students’ study effiency, and to offer assistant programs based on modern computer technology.At the beginning of 1990’s, the leading government intervened the subject and started the led, planed and organized development of the publishing works on electrical-medium teaching. Especially during the "Eighth Five-Year Plan", memory and development of the national test software on computer teaching,where were pointed as important parts of the modernization in teaching approach, had been listed as a national research item, which ensured the educational research and material development. Many teaching software of well-made system and practical teaching capacity were produced. During this period, and some have been applied in teaching practice. Therefore, colleges,universites and companies of computer tech. began to publish various multimedia teaching softwares. However, many coursewares are still repeated on a low level, and there is still a urgent need for reforms in teaching approach, educational methord and concept, content and form of the teaching materials, and educational theory as well. Based on the educational teaching idea and approach ,service patten and developing tools , the "The Multimedia Courseware and Test-library System For Mineralogy" is made to meet the needs of the teaching practice. It mainly aims to design courseware and test-library system.Firstly, the Multimedium Courseware System adopts Authorware as its developing tool. On the consideration of both teachers and students, it offers a multimedia courseware based on Constructivism Teaching Theory, which serves as a guide in <WP=5>teaching and learning Mineralogy through deliberate design and accurate expression. The system will be valuable in mending the exiting teaching pattens which offer only courseware and sometimes even don’t serve teaching at all. It also eliminates various shortcomings which cause the seperation of teaching and coursewares. Secondly, Delphi was introduced into developing the Test-library System. Therefore, the system helps teachers making the test paper computerized,systematic and intelligent. As a perfection to multimedia courseware, it will help improving people’s understanding of the modern educational service patten.
