Abstract

To explore the growth and development characteristics and corresponding cultivation techniques of the flue-cured tobacco varieties Yunyan 87, effects of the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied, planting density, topping stages and the number of leaves remains after topping on the growth and development of tobacco plant, physiological and biochemical indicators, economic traits and chemical composition of tobacco leaves after cured were studied in this experiment. The results showed that the measures that increasing nitrogen fertilizer consumption, lower plant density, early topping and reducing the number of leaves remained after topping increased the nutrients amounts being absorbed during the process of growth and development and resulted in vigorous growth of tobacco plants, higher root vigor, higher nitrate reductase activity, more starch accumulated, thicker leaves, better agronomic traits, more growth days in the field.. However, excessive amount of nitrogen fertilizer, higher planting density, low the number of leaves remained after topping could lead to excessive nutrient supply which in turn lead to deterioration of the economic traits, the chemical composition of tobacco contents and coordination between them.In this experiment, the amounts of pure nitrogen applied being 8.5kg per 666.7m2, planting density being 1111 plants per 666.7m2, topping at flower-bud appearing stage and the number of leaves remained being 20 were the best measures for the tobacco leaves production of Yunyan-87 in Guangze. Then Yunyan-87 tobacco plant growed and developed better and. The performance of overall economic characters, chemical composition and coordination between them were the best.
