Abstract

Imaging technology of the brain’s function, developed in the near twenty years, enables people to study, without any damage, how normal people’s brains actually work and provides with more information about the structure and function of human being’s brain. The brain’s thought activities include several aspects, among which imaging is an psychological process of idea’s re-expressing after combining and reforming under the influence of objective matters and the adjustment of language. This thesis draws a certain conclusion by means of studying the similarities and differences between imaging stimulus of the surface of body and actual stimulus of the surface of body. On this basis, it attempts to explore the theoretical model of stimulus of the surface of body and imaging process. This thesis is composed of eight chapters, except the Introduction, which gives a brief introduction to the significance of studying brain’s functions, the characteristics of the modern science about the brain, as well as the feasibility of using fMRI to study the brain’s functions. Chapter One is the theoretical part, which discusses the theoretical base and feasibility of using fMRI to study the brain’s functions, and concludes the study methods and the points for attention in the experiment procedure.Chapter Two offers a general review about the international study of stimulus of the surface of body and imaging.Chapter Three is the preliminary experiment of imaging stimulus of the surface of body and actual stimulus of the surface of body, which focuses on the threshold value of human surface temperature, especially, the temperature threshold value of hot stimulus, the choice of stimulus source and the subjects.Chapter Four, Five and Six are the main body of the thesis. Chapter Four illustrates the fMRI experiment of imaging and actual cold stimulus. Chapter Five describes the fMRI experiment of imaging hot stimulus and actual hot stimulus. The experiment results indicate that there are both connection and distinction between imaging stimulus and actual stimulus. The distinction is demonstrated from frontal lobe and gyrus cinguli, that is, the statistical result that imaging stimulus makes gyrus cinguli active is beyond 500/Q; while the result that actual stimulus makes gyrus cinguli active is less than 500/Q In addition, the specific positions that imaging and actual stimulus make frontal lobe active are different. The similarities are shown from the following aspects:1)Both imaging cold stimulus and actual cold stimulus make SI, SI, left frontal lobe and pre-central gyrus active; 2)Both imaging hot stimulus and actual hot stimulus make SI and pre-central gyrus active. Chapter Six discusses the experiment results drawn from the former two chapters. Chapter?II ?Seven tries to explore the theoretical model of stimulus of the surface of body and imaging process on the basis of the experiment result and the existing model of brain Information processing.Chapter Eight draws a conclusion from the experiment and offers suggestions for later study.
