In this paper, the problems of Gansu Province geographical environment , potato cropping patterns and small potato excavator analysis, the Gansu Province, potato cultivation plots , slope , Kawachi , low level of mechanization . Over the years, potato production around the most people - Charge , the ratio of the area of machine income is very small, only 26,700 ha , accounting for only 5% of the Gansu Province, potato acreage . The existing potato excavator many kinds , but most is not suitable for small plots and job level terrace , has seriously hampered the development of the potato industry in Gansu Province . Therefore, in order to meet the needs of the development of the potato industry in the comprehensive consideration of Gansu Province, potato cropping patterns , the existing walking tractor ownership ( 2008 Gansu Province 153628 tractor units ) , the potato excavator shortcomings and learn from foreign potato mining machine the basis of merit , the development of a walking tractor supporting ridge potato cropping patterns suitable for dry farming areas of Gansu Province, potato excavator . More in-depth research in the following areas : ( 1) According to the design requirements of the potato excavator to determine the function of the excavator and the whole structure of the program ; (2) by the digging shovel species , and the existing through theoretical analysis mining shovel performance analysis, design of a Walkways mining shovel ; (3) In considering the types, functions and the advantages and disadvantages of the existing separation device based on the design of an isolated wheel separation device ; and calculations to determine the key parameters : the separation wheel diameter 270mm, separation fingertips length of 80mm ; ( 4 ) combination of unit operations separation of wheel speed, tractor PTO shaft position and speed to determine the power transmission program , and its key the components detailed design and theoretical calculations ; (5) PRO / E to establish a three-dimensional solid model of the prototype , and convert it into a two - dimensional graphics, prototype trial ; (6) orthogonal design method , affecting prototype Ming rate of potato , potato injury rate factors ( separation wheel speed , digging shovel length , the longitudinal distance between the axle shovel shaft and separation ) pilot study derived the optimal operating parameters are: separation of wheel speed 140R / min , digging shovel length of 480mm, the longitudinal distance between the the shovel shaft separation axle 300mm .
