Objective animal experiments , research 125I radioactive seed implantation low dose rate continuous exposure to peripheral nerve tissue nerve conduction and electrophysiological activity , and histological evaluation of the peripheral nerve tissue damage . ( 1) the establishment of model selected 32 healthy New Zealand rabbits , two of radioactivity the 125I radioactive particles of 0.9mCi by surgical implantation of healthy New Zealand rabbits left leg next to the sciatic nerve , the two non-radioactive 125I radioactive particles implanted next to the sciatic nerve of the right leg of the same group of rabbits , respectively, for the experimental group and the control group . Regular feeding . (2) the measurement and analysis of the action potential 5 days , 7 days , 10 days, 20 days , respectively , to take the the rabbits measurement bilateral leg 125I radioactive seed implantation parts of the sciatic nerve compound action potential afferent nerve action potentials and efferent action potential . The measure was the action potential amplitude and conduction velocity . Analysis comparing the experimental group and the control group of three sets of action potential difference at each time point as well as experimental and the control group at different time points of difference . Evaluation 125I radioactive particles peripheral nerve fiber action potentials . Results at each time point after 125I radioactive seed implantation , the experimental group and a control group of rabbits leg movement is not affected. Starting from 5 days point in time , the experimental group , the composite nerve afferent nerve action potential amplitude and conduction velocity decreased significantly. Efferent nerve action potential amplitude and conduction velocity at each point in time there is no statistical difference . The electron microscope can be seen as the point in time after the shift , the stepwise increase the myelin nerve tissue damage . Conclusion 125I radioactive particles through the release of gamma -ray and X-ray , close to continuous low-dose irradiation nerve tissue , the irradiation nerve fiber myelin degeneration distorted rupture, the peripheral afferent nerve fiber action potentials and the composite nerve fibers action potential conduction velocity and amplitude reduce the transmission of nerve impulses blocked, without affecting the peripheral nerve conduction velocity and potential amplitude of the outgoing fiber . This indicates that the the 125I radioactive particles organizations interstitial implantation of tumor can not only inhibit tumor growth , reducing tumor volume , while cancer pain relief , improve the patient 's quality of life .
