Abstract


China officially became a member of the WTO and the development of China's textile and garment industry is more a more systematic and in-depth research. I use a combination of theoretical analysis and empirical research method, first introduced the background of the WTO \The Uruguay Round of negotiations finally reached the \The ultimate purpose of the agreement is to adjust the scope of the field of textiles and clothing into the WTO, thus achieving the goal of trade liberalization. The commitment of our government on the accession to the WTO aspects of the textile and garment industry: tariff concessions, investment system and pricing policies, including economic system, the impact of the goods trade policy (including: commitment to trading rights and import regulations), and the impact of trade in goods, trade in the domestic policy commitments. The second chapter first outlines the current situation and existing problems of China's textile and garment industry and trade. Then analyze the huge impact of WTO accession on China's textile and garment exports and the development of the textile industry. Textile trade for the domestic textile industry, the accession to the WTO will bring both opportunities and challenges. China will face more intense competition in the international market. This paper uses a large amount of data from the five aspects of the international competitiveness of China's textile industry comparison. As can be seen, China's textile products in the international community have a strong comparative advantage, cost advantage, price advantage. However, it is worth noting that from the comparative advantages of view, the international competitiveness of China's textile industry is strong, but the competitiveness of the textile industry development is uneven, and the problems of industry and enterprise competitiveness. Based on the summary of our practice and learn from international experience and learn, I finally ideas from macroeconomic policy choices and microscopic countermeasures to promote the sustained and healthy development of China's textile and garment industry of strategic thinking. Macroeconomic policy options aimed at the development of textile industry, the industrial and trade policies for the government to adjust to trade liberalization, and enhance industrial competitiveness. And in terms of microscopic countermeasures, how China's textile industry to strive to achieve the development of trade liberalization, domestic textile enterprises can choose a reasonable and effective measures to improve competitiveness, to occupy more market depends fundamentally.
