However , due to its computational complexity of design , manufacturing difficulties , for a long time limit a broader application of the non - circular gear . In the 1970s , with the development of computer technology and CNC technology , setting off a new round of research and application of non - circular gear craze , they have been referred to as non - circular gear \Gear CNC technology development to solve the difficult problem of non- circular gear manufacturing . However, the design method ( including computer-aided design method) that are given in the existing literature are based on the analysis of the design method , namely: given a set of parameters to obtain Analysis calculated (checking calculations ) As a result, if found Inappropriate , modify the given parameters , in doing the analysis and checking , with greater blindness lengthy design cycle , design quality is difficult to guarantee . In this paper, the design of non - circular gear computational complexity of the problem, and the introduction of non - circular gear design to optimize the design concept . Because the non - circular gear design process can be expressed as follows : given the premise of the transmission ratio variation , select a set of geometric parameters , to ensure the correct meshing of gears , the continuous transmission constraints ( may also include strength, stiffness and other constraints ) the approximation given transmission ratio variation law , by its very nature is an optimization problem as much as possible . This paper gives the oval gear , multi-objective optimization design model of degeneration elliptical gears , eccentric gears three closed non-circular gear transmission ; basis for the derivation of the the meshing fundamental theorem (Willis) and to improve the non-circular gear design formula ; writing a non-circular gear to optimize the design process . Proved that after the optimization design program to calculate and compare the previous example , the introduction of the optimized design concept for the design of non-circular gear , is based on a combination of design method without repeated trial-and-error parameters and school nuclear correction , to meet the different needs of the engineering design , improve design quality , improve the success rate has important theoretical and practical significance .
