Abstract


Lanzhou is the capital city of Gansu province. As early as 5000 years ago of the New Stone Ages, the early inhabitants of the Maternal Clan lived and procreated here. They created rich and glories culture. Various farms of folk performing art rich in local flavor have enjoyed a long history .Lanzhou guzi is one of the various forms of folk performing art which is popular in Lanzhou city and the surrounding areas, with the history of more than 170 years.The previous study on Lanzhou guzi mainly concentrates on the recording and analyzing of the names of the tunes as well as the collection and sorting-outs of the librettos. The research and description of the ecological environment and existing conditions of Lanzhou guzi have largely been neglected. With a lot of field research and study on related works, this thesis has made a preliminary research and study on the ecological environment, existing conditions. The use of the names of tunes and the musical accompaniment features of Lanzhou guzi.The thesis consists of three chapters. Chapter one focuses on the ecological environment and existing conditions of Lanzhou guzi, with a detailed elaboration of the geographical environment that Lanzhou guzi lives by and its existing conditions, the thesis tries to show the ecological conditions of Lanzhou guzi in an all-embracing way. Chapter two deals with the names of the tunes and the musical accompaniment, To make a probe into Lanzhou guzi musically ,the thesis has collected and analyzed the quantity , classification ,and connecting rules of the name of the tunes. The singing of Lanzhou guzi is the major concern of guzi , the way of its singing were inquired into with the aim of observing its features through the way in which it is performed.
