Abstract

Smart antenna technology is one of the key technologies of the third generation mobile communication system , but also at home and abroad hot research topic . Wireless mobile communication channel transmission environment complexity and uncertainty , there is multipath fading and delay spread , thus causing the inter-symbol interference ( ISI ) , co-channel interference ( CCI ) , multiple access interference ( MAI ) these reduce the interference link performance and system capacity , smart antenna technology is one of the methods of solving the above problems . In this paper, the development status of the array antenna technology , the basic working principles , features and advantages . Discuss four types of DOA estimation based on the idea of ??the algorithm , as well as several classic algorithms , analyze their advantages and disadvantages . The main work of this paper is based on subspace estimation algorithm by means of rotation invariant parameter estimation algorithm and two-dimensional virtual ESPRIT algorithm as the research object . To encounter the problem of complex operations in the ESPRIT algorithm , by studying the normalized ESPRIT algorithm , can be complex complex operation into a simple real operations , thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the algorithm . In addition, the two - dimensional virtual ESPRIT algorithm requires three eigenvalue decomposition , large amount of calculation . The space - time matrix method without the need for spectral peak searching , thus reducing the amount of computation . This paper presents a virtual DOA matrix algorithm, which has a small amount of computation , the subarray low estimated effect under conditions of low signal-to-noise ratio is low . The same time , in order to improve the utilization of the antenna array elements multiplexing method , further improvements in the virtual DOA matrix method , simulation results show the effectiveness of the method .
