Abstract


With the continuously increment of information flow on Internet, various business on Internet are developing so fast. VoIP is one of them. As one of the important multimedia communication protocols, SIP is being paid more and more attention and becoming the leading IP signaling technology in the business products of the operators as well as vendors.The pager briefly introduces the some key technologies in VoIP system, and then focuses on the message frame, architecture and session initiation procedure, and elaborates the several layers of SIP stack and its design principle and implementation, including parser, transportation, transaction, logic and application interface. As the key interface of application server, the application of SIP stack has been discussed about its strategy and advantage. And current hot 3GPP communication and Internet application have also been mentioned either for future applications of SIP.
