Abstract

Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology, which is the core technology of three generation (3G), has the advantage of good capability and strong combating interference. But traditional CDMA system belongs to narrow-band spreading spectrum system, whose data rate is so low that it can not be competent to new generation mobile communication system(beyond 3G) that need high data rate. Multi-carrier transmission technology-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), as the core technology of beyond 3G, has the characteristic of high data rate. Multi-carrier CDMA (MC-CDMA) is the technology that perform OFDM on CDMA to let it has the advantage of both. In MC-CDMA system, a single data symbol is replicated into N parallel copies at first, and each branch of parallel stream is multiplied by one chip of a spectrum spreading code of length N then modulated to one of orthogonal sub-carriers to transmission [ 2]. This technology will have brilliant future for its efficiency in combating Inter-Symbol Interference(ISI) and its advantage of frequency diversity. This thesis firstly analyses a MC-CDMA downlink system model in AWGN channel, and orthogonal spreading code is used for computer simulation of bit error rate(BER) performance of MC-CDMA downlink system. Then compose a MC-CDMA downlink system structure in frequency selective fading Rayleigh channel and analyses its BER. In the condition of full load of active users and in frequency selective fading Rayleigh channel, a channel sub-compensation equalization arithmetic is put forward in this thesis. And then this method is further generalized to selective sub-compensation equalization technology when different user’s numbers. The technology can improve the system BER. And the complexity of this technology is low and easy to implement. At last, MATLAB simulations approve analysis results.
