Abstract


We are faced with a visual culture times. It is widely accepted that more and more cultural symbols tend to be replaced by images. China, which is in the period of culture transition can not avoid the changes from verbal culture to visual culture. Image reading is the gradual conversion from one kind of ideology to another kind of ideology. During this conversion, the quick development of cartoon art has gradually aroused people’ attention and it is a kind of social culture phenomena which is closely related with our daily life.Chinese cartoon art has formed its own integrated art school which is featured with its full-bodied ethical characteristics and quite different from others. It established the position of "Chinese Cartoon Art Style" among the international cartoon area and was highly praised. But comparing with the past, today’ s Chinese cartoon art has been in a state of frustration and confusion. In this situation, we must try to avoid the edgy and implicit attitude, strengthen the basic study, summarize the history of Chinese cartoon seriously, probe into the basic rules and features of Chinese cartoon art and rethink the shortages of ourselves so as to excavate the culture advantages fully and inherit the outstanding art style.Cartoon has a close relationship with painting. The art achievements of Chinese cartoon is the complete embodiment of Chinese art design which has inherited and developed the Chinese traditional modeling style. The aim of this article is to summarize academically and systematically the period of the golden time of Chinese cartoon, apply and absorb the research outcome of art design and video theory, analyze deeply the design style of Chinese cartoon in this period and its embodiment of Chinese traditional aesthetic, thinking and see clearly the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese cartoon art in order to provide some valuable theory investigation for the creation of Chinese cartoon in new eras.
