Abstract


Since the 20th century with the remarkable progress of the science and technology, people’s way of information exchange changes dramatically. Traditional media design methods face unprecedented challenges. As digital design begins to distinguish itself in many fields, more and more artists take as the research subject of the study of modern arts how to combine digital painting and software design with traditional painting and design arts.The present thesis introduces the development of digital painting and design both home and abroad, expounds the theoretical foundation of digital painting technology, and discusses the new horizon brought to people by digital design. The special medium of digital painting technology and its background of information explosion display its special artistic modes of thinking different from traditional medium. Its modes of thinking and design methods are influenced by digital technology and have become a symbol of production mode of the age of digital information. And the new horizon it brings stirs the explorations and researches on the combination of digital technology and traditional painting arts.The present thesis begins from the current tendency of combining digital technology and traditional painting arts and probes the initial problems fresco designers meet with, that is, how to innovate modern fresco design and invest in it modern flavor. The application of digital painting technology in the fields of modern fresco will carve a new way for the art of fresco to gain full development in the digital age. Digital painting and design make it possible to display architecture environment in multidimensional way, to vivify the fresco design ideas in a clear way, and to show the aesthetic impinge of the material and texture in an effective way. Moreover, all these can be adjusted and improved in computer. In this way, it can not only stimulate creative inspirations and furthers and optimizes the subject, but also improve the working efficiency and its accuracy. The employment of computer will reinforce the effects of pictures and form new visual tension, improve the quality of fresco works,
