Abstract


Gas-assisted injection molding is a new type plastics molding method. This method has been used widely with many good points such as improving product surface quality, increasing product intensity, reducing warpage, cutting cost, increasing productivity and so on. But in this method, gas interference makes plastics melt flow more complexly. And more wide knowledge including macromolecule physics, rheology, molding technics need mastering in order to comprehend gas-assisted injection molding technology deeply. So the design and produce experience of traditional injection molding can’t meet today’s needs. So computer simulate in gas-assisted injection molding is exigent.This paper summarizes the applications of CAE technology on gas-assisted injection molding. The base of optimal design of gas-assisted injection molding is applied and studied. Then bring forward concurrent application process of. CAE technology. Car penal and front-shell of color TV are analyzed by CAE on gas-assisted injection molding. The concurrent application and study of CAE technology on gas-assisted injection molding in mold design is emphasized. Using Moldflow Plastics Insight 4.0, runner system, gas-assisted system and technics of gas-assisted injection molding are optimally designed. Finally, the best analysis results are obtained.Study of this paper offers a perfect background and theory basic for CAE technology on gas-assisted injection molding. In mold design process, it has strong actual meaning. For example, it can design runner and gas system optimally, make sure technics of gas-assisted injection molding, instruct produce of gas-assisted injection molding. Especially, the application and study of concurrent project of CAE technology is original and practical.
